TAKBO MAHARLIKA ARRIVED TACLOBAN BOUND FOR SL

Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte –The PNP Police Regional Office 8 supported the 14th Leg Takbong Maharlika, Tungo sa Pagkakaisa” Project through the leadership of PCSUPT ARNOLD RAYALA REVILLA.

Assembly time of the activity was at 5:00AM at Barangay Bagacay, Tacloban City. A simple ceremony was conducted before the run which started along Maharlika Highway to Imelda Village, Tacloban City.

PCSUPT SAMSON R TUCAY (RET), lead runner of the Takbo Maharlika with FR. CARMELO DIOLA, Head Steward, Dilaab Foundation, 2nd Lead Runner spearheaded said activity.

They were also joined in by PDIR GEORGE Q PIANO, The Directorate for Logistics.

A Transformation Forum on the PNP ITP – PGS (Integrated Transformation Program – Performance Governance System) was conducted after the run at the Tacloban Convention Center. It was opened with a prayer by PCINSP REYNALDO PIAÑAR. Then, PCSUPT VICENTE A LOOT, PRO 8 DRDA welcomed all the participants before the Ceremonial Turn-over of the Takbo Maharlika between the Tacloban City Police Office and Leyte Provincial Police Office.

Afterwards, Takbo Maharlika runners are expected to arrive Southern Leyte tomorrow (January 5, 2011).

PSSUPT ELIZAR P EGLOSO, Chief PCRD notes the significance of the Takbo Maharlika as a Human Resource Development Component of the PNP ITP – PGS. It also aims to initiate fitness for all PNP personnel to stay fit and consequently promote a national culture of fitness leading to the vision of a healthier and happier Philippines.
