Camp Ruperto Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – PNP PRO 8 supports the Commission on Human Rights call to strengthen the enforcement of the Republic Act 7610, the “Anti-violence Against Children”. It is the protection against child abuse, exploitation and discrimination, according to PRO 8 Regional Director, PCSUPT ARNOLD R REVILLA.
Recently, elements of Dagami Police led by PSINSP ROMULO G ALVARINA arrested a certain LOUIE GUARINO GALAN, 40 years old, married, laborer and a resident of Barangay Hitomnog, Dagami, Leyte.
GALAN was arrested by virtue of Warrant of Arrest issued by Honorable YOLANDA DAGANDAN, Presiding Judge of RTC Branch 15, Burauen, Leyte for violation of the Republic Act 7610 docketed under Criminal Case number BN-06-4661 with a recommended bail of P80,000.00 and was temporarily detained at said station for proper dispositive action.
PSSUPT ELIZAR P EGLOSO, Chief, Police Community Relations reiterates his appeal to the public that whoever learns or has knowledge of circumstances that a child is abused, they may report either orally or in writing to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), to a Barangay Council, to the police or other law enforcement agency.
