Camp Ruperto Kangleon – PNP PRO 8 initiated several measures intended to make its police pro-active, more responsive to the needs of the community and strict action on its anti-criminality program.
Just recently, a 45 year old farmer from Barangay Legaspi, Marabut, Samar was arrested by Marabut Police..
On January 24, 2012 at 8:49AM, some elements of Marabut Police led by SPO1 MANUEL I FERRERAS were dispatched to Barangay Amantillo, Marabut, Samar to remove an unwanted subject.
Upon arrival, officers met the 45 years old TEODORO BACUTANA NAVIDAD of Barangay Legaspi, Marabut, Samar.
According to the report, after conducting warrants check, NAVIDAD was found to have an arrest warrant for the crime of Qualified Trespass to Dwelling docketed under Criminal Case Number 2616 issued by Honorable OPHELIA S LLOSA Presiding Judge of MTC, Marabut, Samar.
NAVIDAD was then handcuffed and transported to Marabut Police Station for proper disposition.
Another wanted person was collared by Ormoc Police on same date at Sitio Panaugan, Barangay Maticaa, Ormoc City.
Police officers led by SPO1 CUBILLA together with PO2 NASAYAO arrested RONEL COLANGCO LUMAPAS, of legal age, married, a motorcycle driver and a resident of said place.
LUMAPAS was apprehended by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for violation of RA 9262 (Violence Against Women and Children) docketed under criminal Case Number R-ORM-00052-CR with recommended bail amounting to One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00).
Subject person is now detained at Ormoc Police Station 2 for proper disposition.
Again, PSSUPT ELIZAR P EGLOSO, Chief, RPCRD stresses that the PNP can never win against criminality and insurgency without the full support of the community.
