PRO8 STEP UP SECURITY PATROLS IN ALBUERA, LEYTE

Camp Ruperto K Kangleon, Palo, Leyte - Chief Superintendent Arnold Rayala Revilla, Regional Director condemns the recent attack/ambush by alledge NPA guerillas in the strongest manner in Albuera, Leyte. Their actions clearly indicate their insensitivity to human rights.

Thus, the police have launched pursuit operations against the rebels for possible engagement so that justice will be served to the victim. Moreover, he directed all police commanders to step up security patrols and intensify intelligence-gathering to thwart similar rebel offensives.

Based on the report this office received that on March 8, 2011, 4:30 in the afternoon, operating troops of 78IB, composed of two (2) platoons led by 2Lt Vinluan and 2Lt Bulayungan encouraged more or less twenty (20) fully armed Communists Terrorists/New People’s Army at (GC-51PXN929033) Sitio Mat-I, Brgy Antipolo, albuera, Leyte. Firefignt lasted for about thirty (30) minutes that resulted to one (1) Killed-In-Action on the government side identified as Pvt Briones and no Woubded-In-Action while undetermined number on the enemy side was reported and thereafter withdraw towards southwest direction.//
