PRO8 INVESTIGATES CENRO SHOOTING INCIDENT

Camp Ruperto K Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – Director Chief Superintendent Arnold Rayala Revilla, wants to ensure the full implementation of the Police Integrated Patrol System (PIPS) nationwide to heighten police visibility. He wants close interaction between the police and the community including the AFP through the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team or BPAT program to enhance crime preventive measures.

Based on the report this Office received that a shooting incident transpired at about 6:30 pm of February 25, 2011 victimizing Pierre Gillo y Colapo, 51 yrs old, married, a resident of Pieces 176, Phase 4 Extension, Corner Switzerland and El Salvador Streets, V & G Subdivision, Tacloban City. He was employed as OIC CENR officer of DENR Regional Office 8, presently assigned at Sta Rita, Samar. He was shot five (5) times by two (2) unidentified male persons infront of his House.

Initial investigation conducted disclosed that there were two (2) suspects, who were riding in tandem in an unidentified single motor vehicle and while the other served as a look-out beside the victim’s car, a Mitsubishi Pajero with plate number YEY-696.

Victim fell down at about 4 meters away from the front of his car and suffered multiple gunshot wounds on his back that caused his instantaneous death.

Discovered from the crime scene were five (5) cartridges for caliber 45 pistol and one (1) slug. Motive of the incident is still under investigation. Tacloban City Police Office is still conducting thorough investigation regarding the identification and location for the possible arrest of the suspects.
