The Southern Leyte State University-Bontoc (SLSU-Bontoc) campus wishes to invite you to the 1st International Fresh Water Prawn Congress which will be held on January 10-11, 2013 at the SSC Building, SLSU-Bontoc Campus, Bontoc, Southern Leyte. This 2-day affair is officially endorsed by the Commission on Higher Education.
This congress aims to: (a) provide a forum for fresh water prawn researchers to share the results of their studies and their experiences with other researchers, students, and practitioners from the country and other parts of the world; (b) promote the improvement of research and evaluation in freshwater prawn as food commodity; and (c) foster professional collaboration among persons who promote, conduct, and/or utilize research findings in this specific area of study.
We are also inviting scholars and researchers to submit papers or posters related to freshwater prawn studies/researches conducted. There will be plenary sessions and parallel panels in the duration of the congress. We are certain that this affair will be a good venue to present significant R&D results for information dissemination.
A registration fee of PhP2,400.00 will be collected from local-based participants and US$100.00 from international-based participants inclusive of the cost for food (2 lunches and 4 snacks) and conference kit. Prospective participants are requested to send in their confirmation on or before December 11, 2012. For your accommodation, enclosed is a list of hotels and lodging houses in the area with their corresponding rates and contact numbers.
