Catbalogan prepares for Women's Month with anti-drug abuse advocacy


Catbalogan City --- CADAC and GAD Council convened last March 02, 2017 at City Mayor's Office by memorandum of Mayor Stephany Uy-Tan who chairs both councils.

The meeting was in preparation for the month-long celebration of women's month 2017 with this year's theme "We make change work for Women".

The activity was attended by the members of Catbalogan Anti-Drug Abuse Council (CADAC) and Gender and Development (GAD) to specifically take up the issues on the launching of a Community-Based Rehabilitation Program and launching of the Therapeutic Community Team (TCT) to be part of the highlights of the Women's Month celebration along side with the the "Women inspiring Women Forum" and the launching of Barangay VAWC Desk Hotlines.

The national women's month celebration every March is part of the worldwide observance of the International Women's Day.

Part of the celebration on March 08, 2017 is a motorcade to be followed by the unveiling of women's month information materials, which will be put up in strategic places to ensure wider session of women's rights and protection.
